David M. Resis

David M. Resis has recovered over $50 million in verdicts and settlements for his clients throughout his career. David has used his various trial skills to obtain several record verdicts, including the two highest ever nursing home verdicts in Cook County; three of the top five highest nursing home verdicts in the State of Illinois; the highest non-wrongful death nursing home verdict in Cook County; and the only three verdicts in the State of Illinois against a nursing home management company. David has also participated in oral arguments before the Appellate Court First District of Illinois resulting in a favorable outcome for his client.  

David was born and raised in Chicago and always had the desire to be an attorney. He began his legal career during his collegiate years at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Upon graduation from the University of Illinois, David attended UIC Law School in Chicago. While in law school, David was very active in the nationally-ranked trial advocacy program at UIC. He successfully competed in numerous trial competitions, finishing as a finalist in both national and regional competitions, and he held several executive positions on the Trial Advocacy Honors Board. 

David was selected as a Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Attorney by the National Trial Lawyers, has been an Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star, and has been a member of the Board of Advocates for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. David has also acted as a mentor to law students at his alma matter, UIC Law School, as a mock trial coach for the school’s trial advocacy program.
